Last night I went to a Christmas party for the children that are in Winshape homes (I work for a Windshape family) at Chick Fil A headquarters. There was everything there that you could imagine and all of it was free for the taking. They had countless stations with activities for the kids and candy for them to take, of course. There was a live nativity, robo-surf, a thing to jump on (don’t really know what is was called, but you had to be strapped in), face painting, sand art, Santa, and so much more. It was a thoroughly enjoyable time for everyone. This morning, as I reflect on the evening and my verses this week, I cannot help but think, that I often forfeit the blessings the Lord has given to me as his child. Just as it pleased Bubba Cathy, his mother, and everyone at Chick Fil a to give so richly to the children, I think it also pleases our Father to give to us.
The past month has been one of various internal trials for me, but I am so grateful to God for the blessing of such peace and joy this week. I am thankful for the truth that I am his child and all he has is mine. I am thankful for his compassion and love. I am thankful for his word, which has revealed these truths to me, again. I pray I may not quickly forget the love of the Father and his generosity, which extends far beyond salvation (though that would surely be sufficient). I pray I might enjoy the Father more and more as I seek first his kingdom. Praise the Lord! “For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”
