I understand why you might feel this way. It seems like foolishness to me too, when I look at it from the world’s perspective. But, I would challenge you to ask questions both ways. What do I mean by that? Well, that when you ask, “Why should there be a creator?” Ask, “Why not?” When you ask, “Why should I believe in Jesus as Savior?” Ask, “Why not?” When you ask, “Why should I believe the Bible?” Ask, “Why not?” You see you must consider both sides to really come to the best and most fair conclusion. Sadly, we spend most of the time considering why we shouldn’t believe this or that, that we never really consider why we should. I personally, could give you many reasons to doubt God, doubt His word, and doubt his love for you, but I can give you many more to believe the opposite. Don’t stop at, “Why?” ask “Why not?” too.
What if instead of presuming the Bible to be false until proven true, you believed it to be true until proven false? Would you be able to prove it false? I think if we are honest we will admit that we can neither prove it true or false.
There will always be mysteries concerning God, but we can still rest assured that he is alive and wants a relationship with us. I know many of the concerns you might have but we must remember that faith requires trust in the things unseen. And we must remember that our ways are not His ways and our thoughts are not His thoughts. If, you want to believe then take the leap of faith and believe. If, you want to continue doubting, then remember that peace can be yours if you will humble yourself before the Lord.
My friend, I pray that the Lord may reveal himself to you so that you may be confident that he is real, he is alive, and he loves you. I pray that any questions you have will not hinder you from stepping out in faith, but that you would trust in the Lord. I pray that the Lord will give you peace and joy. And, I pray that he may protect you and give you strength to endure trials of any kind. God Bless you, my friend.
